An analysis of some of the key passages in Hebrews reveals that the evidence for the
Christological aspects of faith is not lacking. The author of Hebrews presents abundant evidence
throughout the exhortation that Jesus is not only the model of faith, but also the object of faith for
believers. It is my conviction that the concept of faith in Hebrews should be scrutinized within the
framework of Christology and eschatology to understand rightly the author's intended view of
faith. However, it is also to be realized that one cannot totally ignore the contributions made by
the proponents of the ethical view. The importance of the ethical dimension of faith should not be
minimized because these are the very characteristics of faith. They include steadfastness, fidelity,
perseverance, hope and confidence in God's promise, obedience, and reliability. These qualities
are true characteristics of faith in Hebrews and must be interpreted within the context of
Christology and eschatology for a correct understanding of the concept of faith in Hebrews.
